netherlands-flag

Here in detail, the web pages that have been translated (95% of them) :

  • All internal web pages, that is, all pages after signing in (dashboard, profile, jobs, network, messages, settings, preferences etc.)
  • The home pages
  • The sign up process
  • Your email notifications
  • Billing process pages

The 5% remainging pages that have not been translated (yet) correspond to :

  • the FAQ pages
  • the Demo pages
  • the info pages (contact us, about us, terms etc.)
  • the Facebook application (that actually remains in English only)

Of course, they are still available in French and English.

Today we are going to focus our attention on the Spanish translation. We aim to roll it out on February 1st (going to be tough though :)

If you want to help us to (1) review the Dutch translation and (2) translate the remaining pages : that would be awesome. We have already received a great help, I hope that will continue!

Last but not least, thanks a lot @Michael for his incommensurable help,
David.

Short story about Tokbox and iStockCV collaboration:

Tokbox is the tool that we have added on our platform iStockCV and is currently developed in Silicon Valley (California).
Ron Hose founded TokBox around the principle that video communications should be as easy as possible, and available wherever people want to communicate. Tokbox is backed by impressive investors : Bain Capital Ventures, Sequoia Capital et Youniversity Ventures (one of the founders of YouTube, Jawed Karim).

We warmly thank Deidre Caldbeck (VP of Business Development), Melih (developer) and Damon (community Evangelis) for the collaboration with iStockCV team. Great support guys!
In 2009, we will continue to collaborate with Tokbox team for a better customization. We invite you to test it and send us all your comments. (=> red button "feedback" at the right of your screen.)

Tokbox could also be used independently of iStockCV. We trully believe that video conversation is part of the future of the web -- we invite you to join now and use it with your relations.

December 29, 2008: Do you have a social media strategy?

Do you have a social media strategy?

Recently, we published an article for Louvain School of Management (Université catholique de Louvain) about the use of social media for recruitment and retention purposes. Here below the article (available in French only).

December 29, 2008: Conference: Recruitment 2.0

Conference: Recruitment 2.0

A month ago, Pierre Lelong (currently Manager at Technofutur TIC) asked me to attend as a speaker at the conference "Recruitment 2.0". Since those public events are not abundant in Belgium (and this is a shame I think), I gladly accepted. Pierre Leloup did a great job by joining together interesting recruitment and networking professionals -- and to be honest, it was also a good time for me to meet up with some acquaintances like (...) November 21, 2008: T-Zine review (L'Echo)

Recently, T-Zine -- the multimedia blog held by one of the key belgian newspaper 'L'Echo' (or 'De Tijd' for the Flemish part of Belgium) --- wrote a nice and concise review of iStockCV. However, Michel van der Ven (the editor) ended up by emphasizing (in his dutch version of the blog post) iStockCV disadvantage that is, an interface only available in english and french. Well, no worries, Michel, the site will be available in dutch and spanish for Spring 2009. It just takes a tiny moment to set it up. Stay tuned :)

Read below the french blog post (or in dutch if you click on the pic)

And, thanks to Michel van der Ven for the blog post,
David.

November 8, 2008: Techcrunch Belgium : we were there !

TechCrunch UK / Ireland editor Mike Butcher is hitting Belgium in the spirit of his ongoing Euro Tour, to get a taste of the local web/mobile entrepreneur community and digital startup scene.

Of course, we were presenting iStockCV at this event called TechCrunch Belgium meetup that was held in Gent (Belgium)

The TechCrunch Belgium meetup is a joint initiative set up by Robin Wauters (organizer of the Plugg conference and initiator of OpenCoffee Club Brussels ), ONE Agency with the kind help of Netlash.

October 5, 2008: Press presentation at the Business & Innovation Center

Here our presentation we made at Business and innovation center (CEI) on last Sept. 26 regarding iStockCV.

August 18, 2008: Official opening : September 1st

It’s been an exciting Summer here at our office. First we want to thank all of our new users! You guys are awesome and we’re so thrilled to have you on board. We’ve had a ton of great feedback and questions and we want you all to know that we are listening and planning accordingly. We are working on bugs and new features just about 24/7.

Also, a big thank you at the geeks behind the scene :

  • Nicolas Jacobeus and Jean-Baptiste Escoyez, the ruby on rails developers at Belighted.
  • Florent Verschelde, the webmaster at Covert Pretige.
  • Benjamin De Cock, the designer at Deaxon.

I'm stoked to announce the official launch on September 1st 2008. Our public launch includes a new feature for academic associations/students associations. Indeed, we will offer a free access to a company account-like for any academic associations or student associations. Students (and small-sized schools) have been asking us to have an "online cv/contacts management tool" . So we are glad to offer them a free opportunity. There will be a 3rd tab (a pink one :) on the home page sooner.

Till September 1st, we will have a lot of work to do, like updating the content on public pages and stabilize some features (e.g. pdf exportation). Hold on and stay tuned ;)

If you have any feature requests or you discover any bugs please send us an email at feedback@istockcv.com. You can find more information about our platform on our About page

A big thanks also to all the beta testers!
David

Nota bene : a big feature is coming out in Autumn

August 12, 2008: Export your CV to PDF

It is now possible to export CVs in PDF.

As we said before (see our blog post), the CV is a skill based CV which is better for young profiles. Moreover, we have optimized the layout so most of the CVs can fit on 1 page only (e.g. for students and recent graduates).

Check it out : go to my public profile and click on the right “export this CV”.

David.

August 11, 2008: Your public profile is available

We are glad to announce that companies and candidates have now their public profile.

Take a look at those public profiles:

You can also customize your URL through your tab "settings" (for the companies) or "my account" (for the candidates)

David.

May 23, 2008: The (public) beta goes live!

We are proud/happy to announce the launch of the public beta. We've been working as hell :) to make it happen. This is a public beta, that is, it's not the final product. We will release the full product in September to be ready for the academic year 2008-2009. Till this date, we will be glad to receive lots of feedbacks from you guys! What you like / don't like. What you would like to have. Express yourself ;-)

To share an idea, click on the red button called FEEDBACK on the right of your screen.

David
